What: "Scire Donum"
Join Salt+Light for the annual young adult retreat with Fr. Frederick Schmit of the Norbertines of St Michael's Abbey in Silverado, CA who will (once again) be the retreat leader. The theme "Scire Donum" means "Know the Gift" and was inspired by John 4, "Si Scires Donum Dei", which is Latin for "If you knew the gift of God", from Jesus's words to the Samaritan woman at the well. The gift that Jesus speaks of is the gift of His Spirit and we learn from Scripture and Tradition that it is His power that compels us to greater love of God and neighbor.
Fr. Jarrod Lies, Vicar for Evangelization, Stewardship, & Discipleship for the Diocese of Wichita will ground Fr. Frederick's presentation in the diocese with a reflection on the stewardship way of life here in Wichita. We will also have Mass, adoration, confession and men's and women's small group breakouts. The mens group will be led by Fr. Jarrod and Fr. Frederick. The women's session will be facilitated by Sr. Maria Jacinta, IHM.
How much? The retreat is $25 for a single person and $40 for married couples. This helps us cover the cost of meals and resources.
